DNA 2024 Accomplishments

  • Continued twice-yearly neighborhood cleanups. Alley cleanup.
  • Led CommUnity Trees outreach program
  • Sponsored National Night Out (now moved to Fall)
  • Advocacy: Coordinating meetings, attending hearings, reviewing plans/statutes/specs, writing letters, etc.
    • For neighbors of new multifamily (Pearl) building to ensure compliance with laws, codes & stds. – some success…
    • For successful rezoning permit for Old Walls Gallery
    • Advocated for converting the Wells Fargo building into affordable housing
    • For the creation of the Downtown area as a TIF (tax incremental financing) district.
  • Donations:
    • $2,000 to Lew Wallace Elementary (seed money for arts education)
    • $1,000 to Harwood Art Center (ongoing operations)
    • $1,700 to Forrester neighborhood for Halloween extravaganzas
    • $1,000 to FUSION! (ongoing operations & hosting DNA)
    • $350 to Groove Artspace
  • Partnered w/ local neighborhood associations to raise $15,000 for Road Runner Food Drive, smashing our goal by 30%.
