Every even numbered year, on Mother's Day, the Downtown Neighborhood opens some of its beautiful homes to the public.  Selected residents show off a diverse array of homes, architectural styles, and decoration schemes.  Visitors from other neighborhoods, around the state, and even around the country attend this unique event.

The Historic Home & Garden Tour (HHT) is also the primary fundraiser for the DNA.  Every two years we replenish our treasury with funds that are used to support local initiatives, events, schools, residents and more.

Some ways the DNA distributed funds in 2024:
~ Hosted 900+ people at our Historic Home Tour.
~ Donated $800 to Harwood Art School.
~ Donated $1,000 to Lew Wallace Elementary.
~ Donated $800 to Forester Street residents to support the annual Halloween extravaganza.
~ Donated $500 to FUSION!
~ Held a successful National Neighborhood Night Out (NNNO) with music, games and food…providing dinner for more than 75 people.
~~ Began an outreach program, CommUnity Trees, partnering with Lew Wallace Elementary School and donating art siupplies.
